Knowing God as Your Unbiased Heavenly Father

The Epistle of James

There is nothing you can to do make God love you more! There is nothing you can do to make God love you less! His love is Unconditional, Impartial, Everlasting, Infinite, Perfect! 1 Impartial is the word for today. It’s the concept which the Word of God addresses and yet one in which the world constantly struggles to achieve. Prejudice and impartial behavior are headline news almost daily in our nation. It doesn’t have to be. Just look at your heavenly Father and emulate Him.

James 2:1 (KJV)
1 My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons.

Our Unbiased and Impartial Heavenly Father

  • The scriptures testify to God’s impartiality.

Romans 2:11 (KJV)
11 For there is no respect of persons with God.

Ephesians 6:9 (KJV)
9 And, ye masters, do the same things unto them, forbearing threatening: knowing that your Master also is in heaven; neither is there respect of persons with him.

Colossians 3:25 (KJV)
25 But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.

  • Romans 2:11, Ephesians 6:9, and Colossians 3:25 all translate the word ‘respect’ from the same Greek word found in James 2:1.
  • Many other verses show God’s unbiased attitude.

Deuteronomy 10:17 (KJV)
17 For the Lord your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward:

2 Chronicles 19:7 (KJV)
7 Wherefore now let the fear of the Lord be upon you; take heed and do it: for there is no iniquity with the Lord our God, nor respect of persons, nor taking of gifts.

Job 34:19 (KJV)
19 How much less to him that accepteth not the persons of princes, Nor regardeth the rich more than the poor? For they all are the work of his hands.

Luke 20:21 (KJV)
21 And they asked him, saying, Master, we know that thou sayest and teachest rightly, neither acceptest thou the person of any, but teachest the way of God truly:

Galatians 2:6 (KJV)
6 But of these who seemed to be somewhat, (whatsoever they were, it maketh no matter to me: God accepteth no man’s person:) for they who seemed to be somewhat in conference added nothing to me:

1 Peter 1:17 (KJV)
17 And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man’s work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:

  • In that domain, the domain of ‘in Christ’, this Jesus bunch are all brothers.
  • Galatians 3:27-28 explains this sameness.

Galatians 3:27–28 (KJV)
27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

  • The bad behavior permeates from days of old.
  • It is an old acquaintance of civilization with God its constant enemy.

    • ‘do not hold your faith…with an attitude of personal favoritism’ in the New American Standard;
