Did You Know that A Good God Has A Good Plan For Your Life?

A Good God Has A Good Plan for Your Life

A good God has a good plan for your life. He works out portions of the plan getting them ready years in advance. But you have to choose to go God’s way. You have to be sold out to His way of thinking and choose to follow him. Author Max Lucado speaks honestly and to the point when he says, “If there are a thousand steps between us and God, He will take all but one. He will leave the final one for us. The choice is ours.”1 More importantly show God your willingness to obey Him. When He knows that you love Him and that you will demonstrate that love by trusting Him enough to listen to what He, then, in due time, that plan that plan will unfold in your everyday life.

Developing Confidence: A Good God Has A Good Plan for Your Life

Jeremiah 29:11 (NLT) 11 For I know the plans that I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

  • What does that mean ‘God has a plan for me’?
  • He thought about me.
  • It means that I was created with a definite purpose in mind.
  • It means that I am not an accident.
  • I was created on purpose by God for a specific reason.
  • Understanding why you here on planet helps you have confidence and helps you look expectantly towards tomorrow.
  • One minister said these words,

The greatest tragedy in life is not dying but living without a reason.

  • To live outside the borders of God’s plan leads to nothing more than:
    • Frustration.
    • Disappointment
    • Failure
  • Without God’s plan, all you will do is be tossed around by:
    • Circumstances
    • Opinions
    • Ignorant people
  • These people will waste your time and energy accomplishing nothing but leaving you unfulfilled.
  • Your existence means that there is something about your life that this generation needs.

Acts 13:36 (ESV) 36 For David, after he had served the purpose of God in his own generation, fell asleep and was laid with his fathers and saw corruption,

  • God needs and desires to impart your part of His plan into this earth because He has chosen to work through the hands of men.
  • You are the missing piece to someone’s puzzle.
  • But, there’s another piece to having confidence in the plan of God.
  • Not only is God a good God with a good plan for your life, but you must also realize that you are a good man because of the cleansing power of the Blood of Jesus.

Developing Confidence: Know that It Takes A Good Man to Do A Good Plan

  • You can have confidence in your everyday walk with God.
  • You can hold your head up high because the God you look to has confidence in you.
  • The very fact that there is a plan for your life means that God has confidence in you to carry it out.
  • He thinks you’re the right man for the job.
  • If God has confidence in you, shouldn’t you have confidence in yourself?
  • You can have confidence in your tomorrow.
  • Most people believe that God loves them but do you believe that He likes you?
  • Always remember, God made your face just like He wants it.
  • He likes the works of His hands.
  • If you don’t believe that God likes you and has confidence in you just look in the Bible at some of the words that he uses to describe you.
  • God is not a double-tongued person.
  • He doesn’t say one thing while meaning something else.
  • Here are some things God Says about you.

What God Says About You

  • God Says you’re more than a conqueror

Romans 8:37 (ESV)
37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

  • God thinks you’re a great warrior

Revelation 1:5–6 (ESV)
5 and from Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of kings on earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood 6 and made us a kingdom, priests to his God and Father, to him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

  • God thinks you’re royalty

1 Peter 2:9 (ESV)
9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.

  • God thinks you are a joint heir

Romans 8:17 (ESV)
7 and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.

  • That’s not a bad list to agree with.
  • Since He thinks so highly of you, why wouldn’t He have a good plan for your life?

Call to Action

Despite knowing these truths, how often do we get down on ourselves because of our past? We lose confidence because maybe we’ve sinned, missed God and veered off course. But, even in these cases there’s hope if you know this truth. In all of your mistakes, you’ve had help. You have never sinned a sin in your life by yourself. You have always had help sinning or missing God. You have never done that alone. There is only one individual who has ever sinned a sin alone, Satan. Everyone else has had help, Satan’s help via the fall of man. So, don’t get down on yourself. The truth your past is wiped clean via the Blood of Jesus. God thinks you’re a good man so get over yourself, agree with Him and walk out His good plan for your life.
