Changing A Life Through Miracles

People were dramatically changed through the healing ministry of Jesus. Lepers, who could not experience social touch because of their disease, were cleansed (Mk. 1:40-42). Blind people, who had no hope of economic gain and were reduced to begging, were healed (Mk. 10:46-52). Life altering experiences took place with the greatest regularity as the Son of Man ministered day by day! Jesus is our example in this. The will of God has not changed. It is the same today as it was then. God wants to change lives through miracles.

God’s Love Shown Through the Gospel

A good God has a good plan for your life, that is a Bible fact. The days of inferiority are over forever when you understand the gospel. There is no need for you to feel as if you’re a second class citizen. God knew exactly what He was getting when He came to get you. God knew everything about you before hand. He knew all about your mistakes. He knew about your hang ups. He understood your up’s, your down’s and your ‘sideways’. But, the good news of the gospel is that He loved you and came to save you anyway!

A New Wave

Hearing What the Spirit is Saying unto the Church! In 1Corinthians 12, the Apostle Paul lays out for the church an explanation of Spiritual Gifts. If you read the list, you will see that three of the gifts are vocal. Prophecy is words inspired by the Spirit in a known language. Tongues are words inspired by the Spirit in an unknown tongue. Interpretation of tongues is a Spirit given rendering of an unknown tongue. Below is an example of the gift of prophecy.
The following excerpt is taken from a prophecy that was given by Kenneth E. Hagin on June 8, 1983, at the California Faith Convention.

Victory Over Yourself through Discipline

Lord Joseph Duveen, American head of the art firm that bore his name, planned in 1915 to send one of his experts to England to examine some ancient pottery. He booked passage on the Lusitania. Then the German Embassy issued a warning that the liner might be torpedoed. Duveen wanted to call off the trip. “I can’t take the risk of your being killed,” he said to his young employee. “Don’t worry,” said the man, “I’m a strong swimmer, and when I read what was happening in the Atlantic, I began hardening myself by spending time every day in a tub of ice water. At first I could sit only a few minutes, but this morning, I stayed in that tub nearly two hours.” Naturally, Duveen laughed. It sounded preposterous. But his expert sailed, and the Lusitania was torpedoed. The young man was rescued after nearly five hours in the chilly ocean, still in excellent condition. Just as this young man did, so Christians should condition themselves by practicing devotional discipline, behavioral discipline, and discipline in doing good.[1] Let’s look at the subject of discipline in today’s post.

The Problematic Irreverance for God

Irreverence for God is a problem not often addressed in modern church circles. A.W. Tozer addressed it by saying,

We are inclined to irreverence I have a difficult time excusing our careless and irreverent attitudes concerning our Lord and Savior. I feel strongly that worshiping Christians should never be guilty of using a theological word or expression in a popular or careless sense unless we explain what we are doing. It is only proper when we speak of the glory of God the Son to actually refer to that uniqueness of His person and character that excites our admiration and wonder. 1

In today’s post, we are going to look at this irreverence issue primarily from the book of first Samuel.

How We Are Righteous Before God

Today, we are going to talk about a word that you really cannot talk enough about and that is the word ‘righteousness’. Righteousness is a BIG, HUGE Bible word. But there is some confusion that exists about what this word actually is. Some confuse it with holiness but they are two entirely different things. By examining the Word of God on the subject, we can come to a relevant and personal understanding of this big Bible word.

How to Defeat the Common Cold of the Emotions: Discouragement

God is a God of encouragement not discouragement. He is God of the ‘can do’ not the God of the ‘can’t be done’. Your interactions with Him will bring comfort and encouragement. If you are being discouraged, you are listening to the wrong voice. What is discouragement really and how can we gain the victory against this enemy.
