Ten People Who Will Not Inherit The Kingdom Of God: What You Should Know

Ten People Who Will Not Inherit The Kingdom Of God: What You Should Know

In this week’s episode, we are talking inheritance, that is inheriting the Kingdom of God. The Bible details for us those who will and those who won’t inherit the Kingdom. God’s Kingdom is all about righteousness. John Eckhardt wrote the following spiritual ode about God’s Kingdom written from God’s viewpoint. “My kingdom is a kingdom of righteousness, and I hold the scepter of righteousness in My hand. I will lead you in the paths of righteousness. If you will trust in Me, I will bring forth your righteousness as the light. Those who wait upon Me will inherit the earth and will delight themselves in the abundance of peace. Blessed is the woman I choose and cause to approach Me. You will dwell in My courts and be satisfied with the goodness of My house. I will answer you with awesome deeds of righteousness, and I establish the mountains by My strength. The work of righteousness will be peace, and the effect of righteousness will be quietness and assurance forever”1 From a study in Ephesians we look at the Kingdom of God from a different point of view. We look at those who definitely will not inherit the Kingdom. Ten People Who Will Not Inherit The Kingdom Of God: What You Should Know — all on this week’s Light on Life.

How Important in the Kingdom of God Are the Kings Kids?

In Second Kings 10 and verse, thirteen Jehu meets with the brethren of Ahaziah, king of Judah. Because these people are unknown to Jehu, he asks these people Who are you? They answered with these words, ‘We are the brethren of Ahaziah, and we go down to salute the children of the king.’ The children of the King is what we are talking about in this week’s Light on Life. We are going to talk some more about the Kingdom of God. We are going to focus our attention on the children of the King or the King’s kids. The Kingdom of God and Kinship: The King and His Kids.

Why Jesus Is the Powerful and Blessed King

Podcast: Light on Life Season 7 Episode 26

Why Jesus Is the Powerful and Blessed King

It is vital as we look to Jesus that we understand that we look to Him not only as Savior but also as King. Jesus the Savior is the same as Jesus; the Messiah is the same as Jesus the King. The kingship of Jesus is vital ground for a follower of Jesus. A story arose about a certain chess master. In the story, this chess master, along with a friend, went to see the Ingmar Bergman film ‘The Seventh Seal.’ The plot of this classic film revolves around a medieval knight who engages in a game of chess with death (the evil one). Throughout the film, these two make moves on each other. Then, as the movie comes to a climax, the Prince of Darkness makes a move and, with great finality, utters the word “Checkmate!”

With that, the curtain comes down, and the movie is over. [So, this not my kind of film because they have the bad people winning at the end.]

According to the story, the chess master, who was sitting in the audience, turned to his friend and, in a puzzled tone, exclaimed, “Why is he giving up? The king has one more move! The king has one magnificent move left that can turn the tide and win the game.”

Now that preaches. To the mother who is worried because her son seems to be hopelessly hooked on drugs, there is hope in the message: The King has one more move!

To the father, on the verge of despair, because his daughter is being sucked into a punk rock subculture marked by sexual promiscuity, there is comfort in the words “The King has one more move!”

To those who think that the future of the world can be only disaster, the words ring triumphantly: “The King has one more move!”

And to the pastor, whose church seems to be torn apart with tensions and conflicting theologies, there is the good news—the King has one more move!11

In today’s podcast, we are going to take a look at the concept of Jesus as King: ‘Why Jesus Is the Powerful and Blessed King’ — that’s our focus on this week’s Light on Life.

Are You Devoted To Putting God’s Kingdom First?

Podcast: Light on Life Season 6 Episode 17

Are You Devoted To Putting God's Kingdom First?

Are you all in on the idea of putting God’s Kingdom first? Audubon, the well-known naturalist, and artist practiced great self-mastery to learn more about birds. Counting his physical comforts as nothing, he would rise at midnight night after night and go into the swamps to study certain nighthawks. He would crouch motionless in the dark and fog, hoping to discover just one more additional fact about a single species. During one summer, Audubon repeatedly visited the bayous near New Orleans to observe a shy water bird. He would stand almost to his neck in the stagnant waters, scarcely breathing, while poisonous water-moccasin snakes swam past his face. It was not comfortable or pleasant, but he beamed with enthusiasm and is reported to have said, “But what of that? I have the picture of the birds.”

He endured all these things just for a picture of a bird! If a man could be so disciplined for a temporal and physical reward, how much more should your commitment as a child of God be for the imperishable prize before him?1  In this week’s episode we are going to look at a some ‘commitment’ examples, from the Bible; people who illustrated by their choices that seeking first the Kingdom of God is the way to live. All this on this week’s Light on Life.

#S5-002: What Do Priorities in the Kingdom of God Look Like? [Encore Podcast]

What Should Your Priorities Be in God?

There’s no better verse on the subject of priorities than Matthew 6:33, Seek first the kingdom of God. Here are some quotes which echo the thought that priorities will help us to live spiritually successful lives.

Lewis Sperry Chafer, referring to a friend who was devoting most of his time and energy in pursuit of an insignificant matter, said, “He reminds me of a bulldog chasing a train: what’s he going to do with it if he catches it?” 1 When Charles E. Hummell was going into the ministry, a businessman gave him an excellent piece of advice. “Be careful that the urgent doesn’t crowd out the important.” 2 Put first things first and we get second things thrown in: Put second things first and we lose both first and second things. 3

Let’s take a look today, in this week’s Light on Life, at what God says our priorities should be when it comes to the Kingdom of God.

Are You Over Prioritizing Your Everyday Life?

Are You Over Prioritizing Your Life?

Someone asked Emily Post, “What is the correct procedure when one is invited to the White House and has a previous engagement?” She answered, “An invitation to lunch or dine at the White House is a command, and automatically cancels any other engagement.” 1 The issue is one of priority. There are life’s situations which take precedence. What about God and His Kingdom? Is there a priority we need to observe in the realm of the Spirit? The word ‘priority’ is not a Bible word but the concept is. It is epitomized by the word ‘first’ in such passages as Matthew 6:33. Many in our generation are experiencing the pains of an overload. We overcommit and overprioritize. Practicing the concept of ‘first things’ is a sure way of helping you navigate the maze.

Putting the Kingdom of God First

Joyce Meyer had this to say about priorities and putting God and His Kingdom first.

There are so many things that clamor for our attention and devotion: our jobs, our kids, our spouses, our hobbies – the demands and distractions of life. And we have to be careful not to let them become more important or more of a priority than our relationship with God.

In this week’s podcast, we will continue to look at the danger of putting family ahead of the Kingdom.

#S4-002: The Danger of Putting Family First Ahead of the Kingdom of God [Podcast]

The Kingdom of God Series

What's your choice, God or family?

What do you think the concept of putting the Kingdom of God first means? How do you do it? If you remember from last week’s podcast, Jesus gave a Kingdom parable about a Great Feast where everyone who was initially invited to it refused to come. The excuses they gave for turning down the invitation fell into two categories, money and family. We already looked at the first excuse, money. Today, we are going to begin to look at the second which is family.

#S3-048: The Great Need to Flow in the Authority of God [Podcast]

The Kingdom of God Series

The upsurge in astrological interest is unmistakable evidence of moral and social decay. Occultism rises ominously in times of world turmoil, religious apostasy, and moral decline. So says Chuck Swindoll. 1 While there may be a rise in demon activity on planet earth, there also is a rise of believers in Jesus who know their authority in Christ and are using it. Maybe you don’t know that Jesus made you an authorized one or maybe you do know but you have cooled off in this area. If so, getting back to the Word in this area is the source of our life and victory.
