Facing Fear Fearlessly

Fear is the number one attack of the enemy that you will face on planet earth. The earth is a fear filled place. The number one fear is the fear of death. It is right that believers are being led to write books about it. It is right for preachers to preach on it. It is right for you to have an arsenal of books and tapes on it, to help you combat it. It is right for you to mark out in your Bible or to have lists of scriptures that help you in this fight. At all costs fear must be eliminated from your life. What steps can we take in order to rid our lives of this deadly enemy?

The Jonathan Connection

The Lord put certain people in your life in order to help you navigate through and fulfill your destiny. These relationships are God ordained relationships. They are not after the flesh. They are Spirit-led and Spirit orchestrated encounters. There is much talk of ‘relationship mechanics’ in the world today and you can find such talk easily on the internet. The difference between Spirit-led, God ordained, relationships and what the world has to offer is like the difference between the 1st Temple that Solomon built and the 2nd Temple that was rebuilt after the Babylonians came in and destroyed the first one.

What the Prodigal Son Teaches Us

In Luke 15, Jesus presents 3 pictures of reconciliation. Chapter 15 is actually one parable told three different ways. Jesus tells the story of the lost sheep. He adds to that the story of the lost coin. He finishes it off with the story of the lost son. The three stories are actually one parable.  The parable was spoken because of these words uttered by the religious leaders who opposed Jesus, “This man receives sinners and eats with them.” The Pharisees and scribes were taking Jesus to task over His pursuit of sinners. With that in mind, let us take a look at the prodigal son.

Praying for Your Enemies

Mostly, when we read verses on loving our enemies, we make a personal application and rightly so. As Americans, we understand we are to ‘pray for those that do mean or cross things to us in our everyday life on planet earth. We come to that understanding because we do not experience persecution to the point of imprisonment or death because for our Christian faith as some believers experience in other parts of the world. Our job, nevertheless, is to obey the words of Jesus and love and pray for everyone that opposes us.

God’s Love Shown Through the Gospel

A good God has a good plan for your life, that is a Bible fact. The days of inferiority are over forever when you understand the gospel. There is no need for you to feel as if you’re a second class citizen. God knew exactly what He was getting when He came to get you. God knew everything about you before hand. He knew all about your mistakes. He knew about your hang ups. He understood your up’s, your down’s and your ‘sideways’. But, the good news of the gospel is that He loved you and came to save you anyway!

Are the Ten Commandments Really Necessary?

Are the Ten Commandments still relevant? Many in our nation have an opinion on the matter. Ted Turner has declared the Ten Commandments obsolete,”We’re living with outdated rules. The rules we’re living under are the Ten Commandments, and I bet nobody here even pays much attention to them because they’re too old. When Moses went up on the mountain, there were no nuclear weapons, there was no poverty. Today, the Ten Commandments wouldn’t go over. Nobody around likes to be commanded. Commandments are out!” 1 Is Ted Turner correct? Are the Ten Commandments outdated and no longer necessary? The answer lies in understanding God’s purpose for giving them to Israel.
