Who Do You Say Jesus Is to You?

Who Do You Say Jesus Is To You?

In a 1983 Gallup poll Americans were asked: “who do you think Jesus is.” Seventy percent of those interviewed said Jesus was not just another man. Forty-two percent stated Jesus was God among men. Twenty-seven percent felt Jesus was only human but divinely called. Nine percent state that Jesus was divine because he embodied the best of humanity. Also, 81% of Americans consider themselves to be Christians.1 That’s what the poll said. The question now is: “Who do you say Jesus is to you?”

#S4-047: Why It’s Important to Live A Separated Life [Podcast]

Why It's Important to Live A Separated Life

This is what the Spirit of God spoke up in my heart after a season of prayer and study. “You know son, you need to talk about people sinning in the church. I’m trying to get their attention but they’re not listening. I’m trying to help them avoid tragedy. It will come if they don’t hear me. The handwriting is on the wall.” By His instruction, these words come forth today. It’s time to live a separated life before God. It’s time to get the sin out.

The Warning Aspect Of The Inward Witness

The Warning Aspect of the Inward Witness

In previous podcasts, we’ve looked at the conscience or the inward witness. We have seen that the conscience is the voice of your spirit. And, that the use of your conscience by the Spirit of God is the number one way that God will lead you in the everyday affairs of life. The conscience stays supple and sensitive by not overriding it. In today’s post, we take a look at the warning aspect of the inward witness.

Conscience and the Inward Witness: A Look at the Spirit Led Life

Podcast: Light on Life Season Four Episode Forty-Six

Conscience and the Inward Witness: A Look at the Spirit Led Life

Here’s a story that illustrates many people’s view on the role of the conscience. “A man consulted a doctor, ‘I’ve been misbehaving, Doc, and my conscience is troubling me,’ he complained. ‘And, you want something that will strengthen your willpower?’ asked the doctor. ‘Well, no,” said the fellow. “I was thinking of something that would weaken my conscience.'” There’s more to the conscience than being a ‘right and wrong’ referee. But that’s what we’ve been taught: that the conscience’s only role is to gauge morality.  Conscience is the voice of your spirit. It’s how your spirit communicates with you. Conscience and the Inward Witness, that’s the focus of this week’s Light on Life.

How To Live Holy In An Unholy World

You Can Live Holy In An Unholy World

What do we mean when we say a thing is holy? Look at your Bible and it says, “Holy Bible.” What makes it holy? The land of Israel is called “The Holy Land,” and the city of Jerusalem is called “The Holy City.” Why? There is a quality about all three that they share in common. They all belong to God. The Bible is God’s book; Israel is God’s land; Jerusalem is God’s city. They are all God’s property! That is why they are holy; they belong to God.1 The same applies to believers in Jesus. We are holy because of who we belong to. That’s a positional holiness which comes via the new birth. But, there’s another part to holiness. It’s the day to day stuff of living on a sin-stained planet. In today’s post, let’s take a look at the topic of holy living in an unholy world.

#S4-045: Why You Should Believe in the Rapture [Podcast]

Here Are Some Reasons Why You Should Believe in the Rapture

God’s taking the church out of the world instantaneously. The Latin term ‘rapio’, which means to “snatch away” or “carry off,” is the source of the English word. While there are differing views of the millennium (Rev. 20:2–7) in relation to Christ’s second coming (e.g., premillennial, postmillennial, and amillennial), nevertheless, all evangelicals affirm a literal return of Christ to the earth preceding the eternal state.1 The Rapture: Why You Should Believe In It, that’s what we are talking about in this week’s Light on Life.

Casting Crowns: Are Your Works Floor Worthy?

Casting Crowns: Are Your Works Floor Worthy Before God's Throne?

The Bible speaks of crowns which believers are to receive in the life which is to come.  Charles Spurgeon said, “there are no crown-wearers in heaven who were not cross-bearers here below.” 1 In today’s post we take a brief look at the actions of some cross bearing crown wearers who are set before the Throne of God.

#S4-044: Why the Law of the Spirit of Life Sets You Free [Encore Podcast]

The Law of the Spirit that Produces Life Will Set You Free from Death

Years ago when slavery was officially abolished in Jamaica, some of the slaves in the remote areas did not know of their freedom. Years after their release had been announced they still continued to serve their masters, oblivious to the fact that they were legally free. Their owners kept the news from the slaves as long as possible, hoping to extract every ounce of work from their captives. These people put up with these conditions for only one reason. 1 They didn’t know they were free. In Rom. 8:2 Paul says For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. You’re totally free because of Jesus if you only know it.

The Second Coming of Jesus: What You Need to Know

The Second Coming of Our Lord Jesus Christ Will Be the King of Kings and Lord of Lords Coming to Revisit Planet Earth

Recently we have finished a podcast about the Rapture of the Church. This podcast will come out the front part of August 2018, so look for it. But in today’s blog post, we want to look at the intimately connected Second Coming of Jesus. The Rapture of the Church precedes the Second Coming on the prophetic timeline. In one sense, you could look at the Second Coming as one event with two parts. Jesus comes for the Church, that’s the first part of “The Coming.” Then, seven years later after the Great Tribulation has occurred, part two of the Second Coming occurs.

#S4-043: Prophetic End-Times: What You Need to Know [Podcast]

Prophetic End Times: What You Need to Know

Martin Luther is quoted as saying that there were only two days on his calendar; today and “that day.”1 In last week’s podcast, we began to talk about certain areas you should understand from the Word of God about ‘that day’, the Day of the Lord, about end-times. These are places in the Bible where our Father God admonished His children to not be ignorant, areas like the Law of Double reference, areas like time. We didn’t quite finish the ‘time aspect’, so we are going to pick right up this week and march on up the road as we talk about Prophetic End-Times: What You Need to Know

How the Spirit Energizes By the Principle of Saturation

The Spirit of God Energizes and Revives By the Principle of Saturation

In last week’s blog, we spoke of saturation rains which came to the drought-filled nation of Israel during a five year stretch from 1986 to 1991. Israel was accustomed to the former rain and no latter rains which brought abundant harvests to the land. During the drought, the population of Israel was swelling because of the Russian Jews who were returning from the collapse of communism. Strict water rations were enacted even to the point of regulating flushing toilets. The Israeli newspapers were reporting that the greatest threat to Israel was not all the Arab enemies of Israel but rather the severe drought. It was so severe that the water supply was next to nothing. Then, a miracle took place. It began to rain, and not just some shower. The rains came in buckets and sheets and it wouldn’t quit. It kept on raining. The Hebrew newspapers reported MIRACLE, MIRACLE, across the front pages. It rained from October to March, it never stopped. The former and the latter rains had come together. This is how God moves not only in the natural but also in the spiritual. He moves via the principle of saturation.

#S4-042: Why We Need To Be Really Smart About The Things Of God [Podcast]

We Need to Become Really Smart about the Things of God

When the “unsinkable” Titanic hit an iceberg in the early 1900’s, there was great loss of life. Before the accident, there was an arrogant sense of security in the integrity of the ship. There was little time for evacuation instructions and drills. More time was spent on having good fun and arranging the deck chairs than preparing for an emergency. When the ship began to sink, panic filled the hearts of the passengers. Compounding the tragedy, there were not enough lifeboats for everyone. Consequently, hundreds drowned in the freezing waters of the North Atlantic. There are many who are sailing in dangerous waters today. But proper planning will spare many from God’s judgment on the earth.1 Judgment is a part of end times. Just read the book of Revelation and you will see it. We are beginning a brand new series on that very subject of ‘end times’. This what the Lord said about that as I was getting ready to teach the podcast on the Life of John Alexander Dowie. He said these words, ‘I want you to teach the prophetic end-time events. I want you to teach Bible prophecy to my people.’ So, we are heading out that direction and obeying God. End Time Events, What the Bible Says, that’s what we are beginning to talk about on this week’s ‘Light on Life’.
