How You Can Have a Revelation of God’s Power

In the book of Ephesians, Paul prays for the Ephesian believers. He writes in detail the exact words that he utters to God the Father for them. You can find these words starting in Ephesians 1:15-23 and in Ephesians 3:14-19. If Paul thought that these prayers were important to pray for the Ephesian church, do you think that you can pray the same prayers for yourself? Thank God, the answer to that is a resounding yes. God wants you to have a revelation of His power. I have prayed these prayers hundreds and hundreds of times over the course of my life. It has enriched my life and it will absolutely elevate yours. Let’s take a particular look at the prayer in chapter one.

The Psalmist also declares that in God’s presence there is fulness of joy (Psalm 16:11). Joy, peace, and protection, what more can you ask for? And it all comes from His Presence. Hearing What the Spirit is Saying unto the Church! In 1Corinthians 12, the Apostle Paul lays out for the church an explanation of Spiritual Gifts. If you read the list, you will see that three of the gifts are vocal. Prophecy is words inspired by the Spirit in a known language. Tongues are words inspired by the Spirit in an unknown tongue. Interpretation of tongues is a Spirit given rendering of an unknown tongue. Below is an example of the gift of prophecy.

What it Means to Wait on God

How do we pray about the plan of God for our lives? Jesus gave us a startling promise concerning prayer. He said, abiding in Him and His Words abiding in us makes answered prayer a done deal (John 15:7). According to Jesus, praying about the plan involves something called ‘abiding’ in Him. What does it mean to abide in Him? Part of abiding in Him involves the discipline of waiting upon God. Praying about the plan entails waiting on God for His direction. We want to successfully fulfill His will, we must learn the secret of waiting.

Preparing the Way of the Lord

Isaiah 40:3-5 speaks of preparing a highway for God. This prophecy concerns the first coming of Jesus. According to Jesus, John the Baptist was of the instruments God used to prepare this highway for the Messiah. But, there is another coming of Jesus, a Second Coming. Another highway has to be built for the return of Jesus. How can we cooperate with God in this area? God’s heart has always been to flood the entire earth with His glory. Praying for Your Enemies

Mostly, when we read verses on loving our enemies, we make a personal application and rightly so. As Americans, we understand we are to ‘pray for those that do mean or cross things to us in our everyday life on planet earth. We come to that understanding because we do not experience persecution to the point of imprisonment or death because for our Christian faith as some believers experience in other parts of the world. Our job, nevertheless, is to obey the words of Jesus and love and pray for everyone that opposes us.
