How to Defeat the Enemy with the 7th Letter of the Hebrew Alphabet

How to Defeat the Enemy with the 7th Letter of the Hebrew Alphabet

In today’s podcast, we take a look at another way of defeating the enemy, in this case, using the Hebrew alphabet. On the island of Sicily in the fourth century B. C., there ruled a tyrant named Dionysius. He had in his court a certain “yes” man named Damocles. You know how ‘yes’ men are – they are flatters, and Damocles was just that. He sought to gain an advantage by flattering the cruel tyrant Dionysius. One day, as he extolled the virtues of Dionysius, the tyrant, he proclaimed a magnificent banquet in his honor. However, in the midst of the festivities, Damocles happened to look up and discovered to his dismay that a naked sword hung suspended over his head by a single hair. 1 Sometimes it doesn’t pay to be full of words which you don’t mean. The sword that hung over the flatter’s head by a single hair can be likened to the sword that hangs over Satan’s head. Jesus put it there so that you, by the knowledge and faith of God, can enforce Satan’s defeat. How to Defeat the Enemy with the 7th Letter of the Hebrew Alphabet — that’s our focus on this week’s Light On Life.

Your Powerful Victory Over Satan the Devil – Part 2

Your Powerful Victory Over Satan the Devil - Part 2

It’s crucial to expose Satan as the devil. There is a legend of Martin Luther, that, during a severe illness, the Evil One entered his sickroom and, looking at him with a triumphant smile, unrolled a big scroll which he carried in his arms. As the fiend threw one end of it on the floor, it unwound by itself. Luther’s eyes read the long, fearful record of his sins, one by one. That stout heart quailed before the ghastly roll. Suddenly it flashed into Luther’s mind that there was one thing not written there. He cried aloud: “One thing you have forgotten.

The rest is all true, but one thing you have forgotten: ‘The blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.’” And as he said this, the Accuser of the Brethren and his heavy roll disappeared.1 This story may be a legend where Martin Luther is concerned but Satan, the devil, for sure is no legend. Your Powerful Victory Over Satan the Devil – Part 2, that’s our focus on this week’s Light on Life.

Your Powerful Victory Over Satan the Devil

It is vitally important to expose Satan as the devil. The New York Times, reporting on a survey by the Barna Group, noted the diminishing belief in the devil among Americans. Two-thirds of Americans do not believe in the devil as a living entity. In a nationwide telephone survey of 1,007 randomly selected people, pollsters asked whether they agreed that Satan is not a living being but is a symbol of evil. Sixty-two percent agreed with the statement, while 30 percent disagreed; the remaining 8 percent had no opinion. If less than one in three Americans seems willing to give the devil his due, reported the Times, ìthen that is a result of fundamental, long-term shifts in the nation’s religious culture.1

The devil is a living entity. He is very real and very active on planet earth. In this week’s podcast, we take a further look at this very real enemy of the Lord and His people. Your Powerful Victory Over Satan the Devil, all this on this week’s Light on Life.

Your Powerful Victory Over Satan the Serpent

It’s vitally important to expose Satan as the Serpent. The Alabama State flag once showed a cotton plant in flower with a rattlesnake coiled at its roots, about to spring into action. Underneath were these words in Latin: ‘NOLI ME TANGERE’ — “Don’t Touch Me.” Years later, this design finally changed to the cross of St. Andrew. The cross has supplanted the Serpent in Alabama.1 The cross supplants the Serpent — yes it does and in many ways! In this week’s Light on Life podcast, we take a look at and expose Satan as the Serpent.

Enormous Reasons Why You Can Tell Satan to Get Lost

Podcast: Light on Life Season 7 Episode 19

Enormous Reasons Why You Can Tell Satan to Get Lost

Are you in a place where you are experiencing one problem after another? Like just about the time you get your shoes tied, your heel falls off? Are you experiencing opposition to your call? Is the enemy opposing your family, your loved ones? In this week’s podcast, we are going to give you some enormous reasons why you can tell Satan to get lost. Four of them to be exact, four powerfully effective reasons. So, what we are talking about is exercising our God-given authority and dominion. I say, ‘God-given’ because You know the word of God says that God in creation gave man the ability to have ruler-ship or dominion over all the earth. That’s in the book of beginnings, the book of Genesis — right in the first chapter — right off the bat. God made man, Genesis 1:26 says, and the first tool the Lord put in his toolbox was dominion. Now, what does that mean? What does that dominion look like? Well, we can get a clue by first defining terms. What does the word ‘dominion’ mean? To answer this question, you can search the three main Hebrew dictionaries on planet earth today. They are by their initials BDB, HAL, and DCH. BDB is Brown, Drivers, and Brigg. The next one, HAL, is the Hebrew Aramaic Lexicon of the Old Testament, and the third one, DCH, is the Dictionary of Classical Hebrew. Listen to the three entries for dominion. BDB has the definition of dominion as, ‘rule, dominate, or tread.’ The HAL has it as ‘tread, rule, govern, or be over.’ The DCH gives the definition as ‘have dominion (over), rule (over), or be in charge of.’ All of them are very similar and together they give us a ‘no doubt about it’ understanding of a person who has ruling authority, doesn’t it? That’s what dominion is. This is what God gave to man. It is what God gave to you as his representative man to your generation. The question now is, ‘why did he give man this dominion?’ Jesus answers that for us in the gospels when He said, ‘All authority is given unto me, you go, therefore. That’s Matthew’s gospel. Now, couple that with Mark’s gospel entry which reads and ‘these signs will follow them that believe.’ Link these passages together with the Holy Spirit inspired ‘sign’ list the gospel writer Mark gives us. He said these signs shall follow them that believe. What’s the first sign on the list, that is supposed to follow us? “In My Name, shall they cast out devils. Or, we could say it this way, ‘in My Name shall they exercise authority over Satan.’ Now when Jesus said, ‘in My Name cast out devils’, what He is in saying is to undertake this action in my place, in my stead, as my representative, with my authority.’ You were given dominion because God knew that you would have an enemy — an opposing force. The Lord didn’t send man into the fields of planet earth to get your face beaten off — succumbing to every whim of a hostile force. That hostile force — that enemy — that Satan, that devil, that Lucifer and all his little demon cohorts have to be put in their place. And guess what, you are elected to do it. You don’t have to put with anything that is of the enemy. Not one thing. I’m telling you, you have the right to tell Satan to get lost, and to get out of your face. And in today’s podcast, I am going to give you four reasons why all of this is true. Four enormous reasons why you can tell Satan to hit the road jack and don’t look back. Reasons why your authority in Christ is greater than all the devil’s power — that’s our focus on this week’s Light on Life.

Jesus Destroyed Demons with the Power of His Words

A form of exorcism is a daily occurrence at a Miami hospital treating several hundred patients a month who ask to have evil spirits driven from their bodies. “Usually, we treat 600 to 700 a month,” says Dr. Hardat Sukhdeo, director of Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Crisis Intervention Center. “But last month we had 900 people come for help … we worked our tails off—maybe there was a strong pull from the moon or something.” The belief that demons can infiltrate a person’s body is old hat to the Jamaicans, Haitians, Bahamians, Cubans and Puerto Ricans who live in the Miami area, he said. The patients are given strong tranquilizers to calm them; then staff members try to soothe away their fears. 1. Tranquilizers and TLC are not how you deal with demons. It’s the Name of Jesus that get’s it done. What can we learn about the power of the Name by looking at how Jesus dealt with demons?
