In the Bible’s own words, we are living in the “last of the last days”—a period Scripture says will be marked by fierce, grievous, perilous times (2 Tim. 3:1–5). The “last days” began at Pentecost (Acts 2), and as that timeline nears its finish, the Spirit urges us to pay close attention, gain skill, and understand what we’re seeing. These are difficult days not merely because of events, but because of how people will act—self-loving, truth-dodging, pleasure-first—yet believers are not called to panic; we’re called to overcome. Today, we’ll learn how to face mounting pressure without becoming what we resist—how to conquer evil with good, anchor our hope in Jesus, and walk in the fearless, gentle strength that marks Jesus’ followers as we await His appearing. What Is The Ultimate Sign Of Jesus Second Coming?

What are the signs of the Second Coming? National Geographic did a survey about the End of the World back in 2012. With tsunamis, earthquakes, and financial concerns dominating headline news, National Geographic asked what Americans’ thought about a potential “Doomsday scenario. More than 62 percent of Americans thought the world would experience a major catastrophe in the next 20 years. And nearly three out of every four people (71%) envision a major disaster in their lifetime as an act of God, not man. When the question was asked, ”Which of the following, if any, do you think might happen in the United States in the next 25 years? these were the responses: earthquakes (64%), hurricanes (63%) and terrorism (55%) are the most feared, followed by financial collapse (51%), significant blackout (37%), a pandemic (29%) and nuclear fallout (14%). It’s clear from these stats that the ‘End of the World’ is on people’s minds. In today’s podcast, we continue our series on ‘What the Bible says about the End of the World.’

How Does the Rapture of the Church Play Out On The Great Stage

Are you looking for Jesus to return in the glorious event mentioned in First Thessalonians four known as the Rapture of the Church? Famous Bible Expositor G. Campbell Morgan, said, “I never begin my work in the morning without thinking that perhaps He may interrupt my work and begin His own. I am not looking for death. I am looking for Him.”1 Are you looking for Him? The early believers were not looking for something to happen, they were looking for Someone to come. Looking for the train to arrive is one thing, but looking for someone we love to come on that train is another matter.2 I was particularly moved by this story told by Joseph Stowell president of Moody Bible Institute. He said, “One day, while visiting a home for mentally handicapped children operated by a Christian friend, Joseph noticed the tiny handprints of children covering the window. Stowell remarked about them to his friend. “Oh, those,” he replied. “The children here love Jesus, and they are so eager for Him to return that they lean against the windows as they look up to the sky.”3 Little children are looking for Jesus to return. What about all of you big children? That’s why we are focusing on the matter of How Does the Rapture of the Church Play Out On The Great Stage. All on this week’s Light On Life.

Daniel chapter nine lays the groundwork for the chronology of End-Time events. But, this understanding came to Daniel after a season of prayer for his own people. When God answered Daniels intercession, He did so in an exceeding abundant fashion. The God who is more than enough gave Daniel way more than he asked for. That’s how He is. He is more than enough or we can say a ‘way too much’ God. And, He will do the same for you. In today’s post, we begin to look at Daniels. What do these dates have in common (1248, 1306, 1689, 1792, 1836, 1844, 1914, 1936, 1960, 1974, 1981, 1988, 1989, 1992, 1994, 2011)? They all represent the times at which people predicted that the Second Coming of Christ would occur. No one, not even Jesus knows the exact time of Christ’s coming (Matthew 24:36). What we do know is this: Christ’s coming will be unexpected and dramatic. “But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up” (2 Peter 3:10).1. Why Did the Disciples Ask Jesus about the End of the World?

The Danish philosopher, Kierkegaard, tells a parable of a theater where a variety show is proceeding. Each show is more fantastic than the last and is applauded by the audience. Suddenly the manager comes forward. He apologizes for the interruption, but the theater is on fire, and he begs his patrons to leave in an orderly fashion. The audience thinks this is the most amusing turn of the evening, and cheer thunderously. The manager again implores them to leave the burning building, and he is again applauded vigorously. At last, he can do no more. The fire raced through the whole building and the fun-loving audience with it. “And so,” concluded Kierkegaard, “will our age, I sometimes think, go down in fiery destruction to the applause of a crowded house of cheering spectators.”1 In last week’s podcast, we began to delve into some keys to understanding Jesus End-Time message given in Matthew twenty-four. You can rest assured from what Matthew tells us and what we read in the rest of the prophetic scriptures that the end of the world will be no laughing matter.

What the Bible Says about the End of the World

I have heard a great many sermons and or verses quoted out of Matthew twenty-four and twenty-five. So many sermons on the five wise and five foolish virgins and none of the sermons explained it just exactly alike. This one would get up and say that this part of the parable meant this and the oil meant that and then the next one would come in and describe these same elements entirely in a different way and in a different light. And, it got so bad until anytime a minister said that they were going to preaching out of these portions of scripture that I would just almost automatically just turn my hearing off and not listen to a word that they had to say. It wasn’t until many many years later did I finally come to understand what these portions of scripture meant. I finally had an explanation that bore witness with my spirit. I thought that it would never happen. So, in the coming weeks, by the help of the Holy Spirit, we are going to delve into these end-time passages from the Word of God and come to a proper understanding of What Are the Signs of the Second Coming of Jesus and of the End of the World?
